Cosmetic Dentistry

The benefits of a healthy and beautiful smile are immeasurable. If there’s something about your smile you’d like to improve, we promise there’s a solution for it. Dr. Hollifield will consult with you on the best approach to make yours a smile you’re proud of. Some of the most common cosmetic dentistry procedures we offer are:

Teeth Whitening

Just ask and we can discuss your options for in-office whitening treatments. More effective than at-home treatments, our in-office procedure can usually be completed in just a single visit.

Porcelain Veneers

For a more “perfect” smile like all the celebrities flash, consider veneers. These are wafer-like, thin layers of tooth-colored material adhered to the enamel, used for hiding imperfections and improving the overall color, shape or size of teeth. Porcelain veneers are fabricated in the dentist’s laboratory to get the custom coloring and fit best suited for your mouth. They are permanent and give the most dramatic results for a full mouth makeover.

When a smaller area needs improvement in appearance, such as just one or two teeth, bonding is a quicker and less expensive option than veneers, largely because the process does not require custom molds and less tooth enamel is removed during application. Bonding is, however, less durable than veneers and may need touch ups over time. It is usually recommended for teeth with low bite pressure (such as the front teeth).

Crowns & Bridges

A crown may be recommended when you have a tooth that has a large defective restoration. It can also provide a surface for a needed filling when the tooth itself is too small to hold one. Crowns are also useful when covering dental implants.

A bridge is used to fill the space from a missing tooth, “bridging” the gap with a false tooth so the space is no longer noticeable. Dr. Hollifield will recommend either a fixed bridge or removable partial based on the condition of the surrounding teeth.
